TAEYANG’s second full album, the first one in 4 years titled “RISE,” is getting some very hot responses overseas.
His album, at 3 pm on June 3, has been #1 on iTunes of Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan while topping R&B/Soul charts in the U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
He also knocked down online music sites. Since its release with the music video on YG Entertainment’s official blog and domestic music sites at 0 hour of June 3, the title track “EYES, NOSE, LIPS” have been on the very top of 10 domestic music charts.
The title track swept across 10 charts including Melon, Mnet, Bugs, Soribada, Daum, Naver, Genie, Olleh Music, Cyworld Music, and Monkey 3, while in the morning he topped Melon’s “24-hour usage comparison” chart. Such excellent performance is putting him under the spotlight.
“EYES, NOSE, LIPS” is an R&B slow song that maximizes TAEYANG’s sentimental voice, unveiling different emotions in him. It is a song that reveals his new charms, which are quite different to the ones shown in “RINGA LINGA” last November through the powerful, provocative and straightforward lyrics.
Apart from the title track, other songs in his album like “1AM,” “LET GO” and “THIS AIN’T IT” are also well-received by the public, as the soulful songs also rank in the top range.
