Today was a special day for all Taeyang fans as he celebrates his birthday. It was also a very significant day for his fans who decided to donate money for a cause to honor Taeyang's birthday.
The May 18 Memorial Foundation was the beneficiary pick of Taeyang's fans who shared on May 17, "You Are the Sun, I Am the Moon" and donated 5.18 million won (approximately $5,180 USD) on May 15. It was a lot of money given by Taeyang's fans and many needy people can use it for a better living.
Fans shared that they wanted to donate the money under Taeyang's name as their gift on his birthday.
Taeyang expressed his gratitude to his fans by leaving a message on his Twitter account saying, "Because I already have so much, I hope you understand my heart of wanting the fans to give to those who need it more...I am thankful for the love I receive and I will repay you with good music."
Taeyang's special day also marks Korea's historical day known as 'The May 18 Gwangju Democratic Uprising.' This reminds fellow Koreans to give respect and honor to those who sacrificed their lives and the fans wished to continue to honor this significant day and give it to May 18 Memorial Foundation.
