[Dispatch=김미겸기자] Taeyang has successfully come back. His new song “Ringa Linga” has topped major music charts in Korea. Plus, it is ranked high in foreign iTunes charts. The song is ranked No.1 in five Asian countries’ iTunes charts.
Taeyang released “Ringa Linga”, one of the tracks of his second full solo album, on a variety of music-streaming web-sites on the 8. As of the 8, at 7am, the song is in the No.1 place in the real-time charts of seven music web-sites in Korea, including Olleh Music, Naver Music, Bugs, Soribada, Mnet, Cyworld, and Genie.
It beat all prominent rivals. For example, Miss A’s new song “Hush”’s ranking dropped to the second, behind “Ringa Linga”. Gumuri (Primary & Park Myung Soo)’s “I GOT C”, a song for MBC TV’s “Infinite Challenge Music Festival”, is in the third place.
“Ringa Linga” is riding high in overseas iTunes charts as well. It swept the No.1 places in iTunes charts of five countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Macao. This shows the fact that not only Koreans but also foreigners are much interested in Taeyang’s new album.
“Ringa Linga” highlights Taeyang’s musical transformation. Its genre is hip-hop, with a powerful and rhythmical rapping, where listeners can feel Taeyang’s swagger that has deepened even further. That is a new type of appeal, which is different from his past medium-tempo R&B hits like “Only Look at Me”, “I Need a Girl”, and “Wedding Dress”.
Meanwhile, Taeyang discloses the music video of “Ringa Linga” on the 9.
