MV OF TAEYANG’S “RINGA LINGA” RECORDS 3M VIEWS+DANCE VIDEO 7M VIEWS

[OSEN=황미현 기자] The music video of “RINGA LINGA” by boy band BIG BANG’s TAEYANG has recorded 3 million views, while the song’s dance performance video which was released preliminarily has recorded 7 million views, proving TAEYANG’s high popularity both home and abroad.

According to world-wide video-streaming site YouTube, the dance performance video which was release on the 7 this month before the release of “RINGA LINGA”, recorded 7 million views within a week and the music video itself has reached 3 million views.
Notably, while the number of views of the dance performance video has been on the constant rise, it has also been drawing much popularity from fans around the world, based on compliment by YG Entertainment’s head Yang Hyun Suk.
There are as many as 30,000 and 20,000 replies posted toward TAEYANG’s music video and dance performance video respectively, and a significant number of them are written by overseas fans, which is an extraordinary event.
Before that, TAEYANG released “RINGA LINGA”, his first solo music in three years, on the 8 this month. The song has topped not only Korean real-time music charts but also iTunes charts of seven countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Macao.
“RINGA LINGA” is a hip-hop music with a rhythmical and powerful rap, plus a sophisticated melody line, which express TAEYANG’s unique vocal and hip-hop swag. TAEYANG’s 13-year-long friend G-DRAGON wrote the lyrics and co-composed the song with a foreign songwriter.
The choreography in the dance performance video whose number of views has reached 7 million is a product of Parris Goebel, the leader of Request Crew who has won the World Hip Hop Dance Championship, as well as a famous choreographer who has produced Jennifer Lopez’s “Dance Again World Tour”.
