Big Bang’s cover contest gathers heat with celebrity contestants

A lot of groups are out to try their hands at becoming Big Bang.

Big Bang’s official survival cover contest is gathering a great variety of contestants - including even celebrities.

The three-week preliminaries for the Fantastic Baby cover contest held on Nate Pann drew in a total of 213 teams, with 1100 people. The views for all the videos added up to 6.4 million, proving the great attention the contest was gathering.

What’s notable in the contest is that it managed to draw in some interesting participants with interesting backgrounds.

Ordinary contestants have of course entered, but idol group Teen Top, tvN Comedy Big League’s Americano team and SBS K-Pop Star’s Oh Tae Seok and Oh Yoon Seok brothers are also adding to the heat. Teen Top, which has said it looks up to Big Bang as a senior, showed off a perfect rendition of Fantastic Baby’s ‘windshield wiper dance’.

The Oh Tae Seok and Oh Yoon Seok brothers made it into the top 10 on April 12 with a groovy rearrangement of the strong dance piece.

A team which came up with a new choreography for the song, a dance team with middle-aged women and a two year old baby that made up for G-Dragon’s ‘seaweed hair’ with a green sock, all made it into the finals.

The final winner will be chosen on April 19 through points compiled from netizen polls and those given by Big Bang and YG’s choreography team.

The winner will be given tickets to Big Bang’s world tour Alive Tour 2012 in Japan along with a round-trip plane ticket and a hotel voucher, and the top 10 will be given a waiver for YG’s first round auditions, meaning they can go directly to the second round, and a special Big Bang goods package.
