Taeyang, "Dance skill is unsurpassed" according to SM, JYP, and YG head choreographers

Top choreographers from leading entertainment companies were asked to choose the best male and female dancers in Kpop.

The panelists included: SM Burgerbeats’ chief Hwang Sanghoon (in charge of SM choreo), YG Hi Tech’s director Lee Jaewook, JYP’s head of choreography Park Namyong, Cube Prepix’s leader Ha Wooshin, and TS Play Dance’s director Park Sanghyun.

Three out of five directors (SM, JYP, and YG) chose Big Bang’s Taeyang as the best male dancer. YG’s Lee Jae Wook said, “his strength lies on his techniques and exp ressions. No one can match Taeyang’s dancing skills.” JYP’s Park Nam Yong praised Taeyang saying that, “his moves are clean and he is very good at expressing emotions.” SM’s Hwang Sanghoon who is in charge of choreography for SM Entertainment artists also said, “Taeyang has superior talent that is unsurpassed.”

Meanwhile, Cube’s Ha Wooshin chose Beast, specifically Jang Hyunseung, while TS’s Park Sanghyun chose Jay Park.

For the females, votes were mixed. SM’s Hwang Sanghun and JYP’s Park Namyong chose BoA because of her energetic moves. YG’s Lee Jaewook and TS’s Park Sanghyun both chose 2NE1’s Minzy. Meanwhile, Cube’s Ha Wooshin voted for miss A’s Min.

SM Burgerbeats’ Hwang Sang Hoon who voted for Taeyang in the male division shared his wish, “I want to see BoA and Taeyang perform together on stage.”

BIGBANG’s Taeyang who has won 3 votes out of the 5 judges and managed to capture 1st place in this ranking. The person in charge of the choreography for YG Entertainment said, ‘Taeyang’s power and skills (technique), together with his facial expression made his dancing unbeatable.’

This BIGBANG’s member can digest variety music genres and when he was doing his solo activities for the songs, ‘Only Look at Me’ and ‘I Need A Girl’, his dances style were characterized by Soul and R&B style.

The choreography leader in JYP Entertainment praised that, "Taeyang has presented a clear performance in accordance to the music that he had to dance to." The choreography representative from SME also said, "His skill is outstanding."

He gave a thumb up to Taeyang. On the other hand, the choreographer who was in charge of ‘Magic’ and ‘Madonna’ for the group ‘Secret’ said ,"Jay Park is good at dancing both Old School and New School music since the singer can pull it off. Nowadays, Old School is a trend but Jay Park who has grown up in USA does not go with the trend."

Meanwhile, BEAST's choreographer admired the members Yong Jun Hyung and Jang Hyun Seung the most. He said, "Yong Jun Hyung learnt to dance professionally in order to become a member of the dream team, Beast since each member is different in dancing. Jang Hyun Seung is one of the good examples."
