On May 1, BIGBANG released two new songs, “LOSER” and “BAE BAE,” after three years to start off their five-month long “MADE” project. One month later, they dropped two new songs, “BANG BANG BANG” and “WE LIKE 2 PARTY,” for their second single “A.”
The group will continue to release new songs on July 1 and August 1, then officially release the entire album “MADE.”
This project is an exceptional case in Korea’s music industry and has been the center of attention, even before the release, because of clashing views of whether or not it would be a successful approach.
Results prove that the “MADE” project is, indeed, successful. According to explicit results from Genie Music on June 16, “LOSER,” which was released a month and a half ago, has been first place on the music chart for a total of 349 hours. This is equivalent to being first place for approximately 14 days.
“BANG BANG BANG,” which has been released for 15 days, has been first place for 153 hours.
When adding up these two numbers, “LOSER” and “BANG BANG BANG” have accumulatively been first place for 502 hours, which is 21 days straight.
The hours just get longer if the recorded range is extended to the top 5 songs. Based on chart records on June 15, “LOSER” has been included in the top 5 for 844 hours, “BAE BAE” 533 hours, “BANG BANG BANG” 347 hours, and “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” 533 hours.
These scores are enough to prove BIGBANG’s extensive influence on the music industry. Fans are eager to see more of the group’s accomplishments as the “MADE” project goes on.
