BIGBANG HAS ADVANCED TO 4TH ROUND OF AMERICAN BILLBOARD’S FANDOM VOTE… TO COMPETE WITH SKILLET

[엑스포츠뉴스=정희서 기자] Group BIGBANG has advanced to the fourth round of ’FAN ARMY FACE-OFF’, a fandom vote hosted by American Billboard.

On the 7 this month (local time), Billboard introduced the vote by throwing a question that goes “Which army is the strongest?”

Billboard said, “In 2014, it’s easier than ever for fans of different pop stars to connect with each other. With the explosion of social media making it simpler than ever to find other fanatics of your favorite artist, “fan armies” have become a shorthand for singers’ most dedicated followers…”

Then, Billboard went on to introduce the purpose of the vote, saying, “Only one question remains: which fan army is the strongest? Billboard.com hopes to answer that question with the Fan Army Face-Off, a bracket-style tournament in which various fan armies will square off to prove that they are unequivocally the loudest voices in the pop sphere”. It also heightened the expectations for the vote by adding, “We’ve rounded up 32 of the most notable fan armies today, and through five rounds, we’ll let the fans themselves determine which fan armies stride forward, or fall by the wayside”.

BIGBANG’s fan club VIP beat Rihanna’s fan club in the first round, Selena Gomez’s fan club in the second round, and Girls’ Generation’s fan club in the third round, to advance to the fourth round where they will compete with Skillet’s fan club.

On the 29 (local time), Billboard announced the beginning of the fourth round of “FAN ARMY FACE-OFF” and covered VIP’s opinion.

BIGBANG’s fan club expressed their thanks to BIGBANG by saying to Billboard, “We’re sure that VIP club is the most excellent fandom. Since 2006, we share everything through a variety of social media channels and we have deep bond. BIGBANG also shows us how important we are to them, through their Instagram or Twitter”. The club went on to express their affection for BIGBANG by adding, “Now we are celebrating the 8th anniversary of BIGBANG’s debut and we will be beside BIGBANG forever”.

Meanwhile, the fourth round of the vote will end on August 3 in EDT. If BIGBANG wins the fourth round, they advance to the final round.
