[OSEN=이혜린 기자] According to TAEYANG’s agency YG ENTERTAINMENT on the 27 this month, BIGBANG member TAEYANG has successfully rounded off his first solo performance in the U.S.A., which was held in San Francisco on the 26 this month (local time).
TAEYANG was invited to “Music Experiment 2.0” jointly held by MTV IGGY and Intel, and gave performance at BIMBO’s 365 club located in San Francisco, electrifying local fans.
The event was the second series of “Music Experiment” that Intel began to hold annually starting from 2012, and it was also the stage for TAEYANG’s first solo performance. So far, TAEYANG has performed in New Jersey and LA in BIGBANG’s world tour, but “Musical Experiment” is his first solo stage in the country.
Fans have been looking forward to TAEYANG’s performance at the event and even lined up from the day before the concert, to see TAEYANG’s first-ever solo performance in the U.S.A.
BIGBANG’s world tour band performed with TAEYANG. His performance began with session performance and dancers’ performance under colorful lighting and when TAEYANG came upon the stage dancing, the audience welcomed him with a thunderous applause and shout. He gave off manly charisma in blond hair and black leather jacket and swept the stage, singing “SUPER STAR” and “BREAKDOWN”. TAEYANG’s stable live performance and veteran stage manners were acclaimed by the audience.
Then, TAEYANG went on to show high quality soul vocal and sophisticated dance performance by singing his hit songs including “I NEED A GIRL” and “ONLY LOOK AT ME”. His performance livened up the mood, stirring up enthusiastic response from the audience.
He also drew much attention by disclosing his new song “1AM” on the stage. “1AM” is a song that expresses a feeling of missing an unforgettable person and its lyrics that go “It’s 1AM now and I think of you” is impressive. Before disclosing the song, TAEYANG said, “This song may be my next solo single.”, but added that only YG ENTERTAINMENT knows whether it will be really so, making fans curious.
After making the upbeat mood with “1AM”, TAEYANG caught eyes by singing his recent single “RINGA LINGA”, where he demonstrated colorful mixture of rap and vocal, as well as rhythmical and powerful performance. Even after TAEYANG disappeared from the stage with the introduction of the session, fans did not stop calling for an encore.
On the encore stage, TAEYANG passionately sang BIGBANG’s “BAD BOY” and “FANTASTIC BABY”.
Plus, to respond to fans’ cheers, TAEYANG performed “WEDDING DRESS”, “I NEED A GIRL”, “SUPER STAR”, “RINGA LINGA”, and “ONLY LOOK AT ME” on the encore stage, satisfying fans. TAEYANG was excited by fans’ response to his energetic performance, and did more encores than originally planned, and even sang with fans, keeping in tune with them.
After finishing all his performance, TAEYANG received an appreciation plaque and left the stage in fans’ enthusiastic acclamation.
TAEYANG’s performance can be watched on the Internet from December 3.
Plus, it will be rerun frequently, since the first broadcasting at 9pm on December 20 (EST) on MTV’s sister channel Palladia.
