Big Bang and 2NE1 will be releasing their albums in Japan on the same day. Will the move turn out to be a win-win strategy, or will this pitch the two groups against each other in an epic battle?
The big release is scheduled for March 28. Having two teams from the same agency release albums on the same day is, for obvious reasons, an unusual strategy.
A quote from a rep of YGEX, YG Entertainment’s Japanese counterpart, shows that the agency expects the move to benefit both groups and their fans. “Because the fanbases of the two groups greatly overlap, we believe that having the two groups release albums on the same day will please them even more.”
Big Bang plans to release its upcoming mini album Alive in Japan with a total of nine tracks, two more than the version to be released in Korea.
G-Dragon participated in the writing and composition for this album, and is expected to show off his musical capabilities once more. A DVD and photo book will be released at the same time as the album, to give fans a glimpse of what the members of Big Bang are usually up to outside of the stage.
Big Bang will also be touring five cities in Japan starting from May 17.
During the YG Family Concert held on January 8 in Japan, G-Dragon showed he was enthusiastic about again launching full-fledged promotions in the country, saying, “We’ll work hard so that we don’t cause our fans concern.”
The album 2NE1 will be releasing is the girl group′s first Japan studio album. The title of the album hasn’t been confirmed yet, but many of the group’s previous hits will be making it into the album. Ten songs, including I Don’t Care and the group’s debut single Fire, will be re-recorded into Japanese versions for the album.

ReplyDeleteI mean that it actually should be BB's special day..and all of us should be happy..I'm sorry if I reacted too much exaggarated but I missed Big Bang and we all know what kind of things happened to BB last year..I actaully wanted it to be BB's special day and not mixed up with 2ne1's. They were neglacted A LOT by YG..

YG wanna Big Bang to promote 2ne1; like what the Boys have been doing so far!! 2ne1 are riding on their seniors' popularity!! they don't have talents, no originality & they're just plain crap!! they're successful today because they've a very good team behind them - for example; good producers like Teddy, GD, etc.. they don't deserve the fame & popularity because they don't strive it on their own; they used others!!!!! the so-called 'The Best New Band' winner won this award not from their own hard work but others!! haha.. what a joke!!!! pffft...
